About

John Zulueta is a psychiatrist and clinical informatician interested in fostering the union of psychiatry with informatics and data science. Among these interests include the creation of digital phenotypes of psychiatric disorders based on passively collected data derived from the routine use of digital technologies. John is also interested more generally in the use of data derived from clinical care such as healthcare claims and electronic health records to improve clinical care and operations. Previous projects include creating models to predict the likelihood of patients not presenting for their appointments, characterizing outpatient physician prescribing selectivity, constructing metrics to measure patient access and clinic utilization, and analyzing medical claims data to derive care episodes. John has expertise in querying and preparing EHR data for analysis, performing data analysis, and the application of various machine learning models. John is available to consult with investigators on these topics and how informatics can further their research goals.
