This seminar will focus on the advance of data science, the theory and methodology, and applications in health care. The talks will cover applications ofsome AI models that are currently in use in healthcare, with focus on bias factors;the integration of statistical theory with health science, specifically on quantifying subarachnoid hemorrhage and epileptic seizures; Fréchet regression and variable selection with applications to connectomics; and understanding the causal factors that can trigger or prevent patient outcomes for different patient subpopulations, in order to design targeted interventions.
The talk will run from 4:00 - 5:00pm, proceeded by a networking reception with light food and drinks from 5:00 - 6:00pm.
