About
Joanna Tess is a public health professional interested in health equity and data strategy. On CCTS’s Biomedical Informatics team, Joanna manages the service request pipeline and serves as the team’s project manager. Her expertise in informatics and her familiarity with campus services allows her to help research teams navigate the available data, platforms, and services on campus.
Joanna has analytics and data science experience both in academic and health payer environments. She received her master's in public health from UIC’s School of Public Health and provided analytics and evaluation for UIC’s CHECK program – an innovative care coordination program for kids and young adults. Prior to returning to UIC, Joanna was senior manager for analytics consulting at HCSC, where she led a team of business analysts and data scientists implementing ML-driven decision-making in the operational space.
