In her role as Associate Director of Translational Research Endeavors, Julie Kong brings her 40+ years of experience in patient care, clinical research, education, and research administration in initiating and facilitating faculty collaborations within the Team Science and K Scholars Program. As the former Director of the School Public Health pre-awards research office (approximately 20 years), Julie is extremely familiar with the research enterprise at UIC and works with her Team Science Co-Directors in assisting faculty organize potential research teams in response to funding opportunities. In a separate but dual role, Julie utilizes her education programmatic skills in developing curriculum to meet competencies for junior investigators in the K Scholar Program.
