Emma Villareal, Community Health Worker
Her experience as a community health worker in the UIC Hospital has provided UIC’s patient population with exclusive patient translation care services and research including, keeping up with community action driven campaigns that address; environment, housing, education, food, violence, immigration, and COVID-19.

Sarah is a community thought leader & business architect. Her passion for community, wellness, and innovative concepts inspired her to take action for change and create the non-profit start-up: Woke Chicago, a concept that leverages community partnerships to create wellness through movement and mindfulness access in neighborhoods of color and low-income.
Huu Nguyen
As an instructor at the International Capoeira Angola Foundation, Huu engages youth and families in the practice of Capoeira Angola, a tradition that is rooted in anti-oppression and liberation. As a community activist, Huu has been involved in the areas of education, immigration, and housing, among others and has experience working with children, youth, immigrant families and persons with disabilities.
Lisa Curiel, Founder of Unique Sweets
Lisa has founded a social enterprise organization called Unique Sweets where teens and young adults with autism bake and sell deserts in an effort to help them develop their work and social skills.
