UI Biorepository

The UI Biorepository acquires, stores, catalogues, and provides tissue and other biological samples for investigators at the University of Illinois. It was established in 2012 as a resource in the UI Hospital and Health Sciences System to augment clinical and translational research at UIC and improve the treatment and health of individuals. Clinical-translational researchers may utilize this resource as a single facility for biospecimen preparation with a centralized freezer farm. They may also benefit from the ability to acquire biospecimens through PI-initiated protocols, the UIHHS “opt-in” program, or access to biosamples for unspecified future use.
