Electronic Visualization Laboratory

The The Electronic Visualization Laboratory (EVL) is a cross-disciplinary graduate research laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The primary areas of research are in computer graphics, high-performance computer networking, and technological art with specializations in advanced visualization and networking technologies.

Past projects include 

  • The invention of the CAVE virtual reality theater
  • Augmented display environments ImmersaDesk and PARIS
  • High-resolution stereo display systems 2GeoWall and Varrier
  • Interactive display systems LambdaVision and LambdaTable
  • SAGE, a shared visualization system for use over an advanced extended network
