In October 2014, Charity Ball joined the CCTS Clinical Research Center (CRC) as the new operations manager.  Her role in the CRC focuses on daily clinic flow, utilization tracking and evaluation, and quality assurance.

With a BSN from Prairie View A&M University in Texas, Charity’s clinical nursing milieu is in critical care. She has an extensive clinical research background that includes over 10 years of experience in various roles including research coordinator, research manager, and project manager of a multi-site NHLBI funded trial, and is currently pursuing her MSN from St. Xavier University.

While she has worked at several Chicago area health systems, including Northwestern University and Advocate Christ Hospital, Charity’s passion lies in university-based academic research with a question-based learning approach. She enjoys the unique nature of the CRC in that it manages protocols on behalf of UIC PIs while being protocol-based itself.

Says Charity of the CRC team, “They are dynamic team players with multilayered skills that truly give 100%. Their energy and commitment to the protocols and each other is remarkable.”

Be sure to say hello to Charity the next time you are in the Clinical Research Center!
